Expectations and Requirements
THE COMPANY is made up of two parts - Company and Company in Training
Dancers are responsible to attend all events whether they are performing or supporting the other members of their team. This includes participating in ALL conventions, performances and competitions assigned. All dancers will perform throughout the season.
Dancers will be assigned choreography assignments (including rehearsal fees) based on performance, attendance and classwork.
Choreography: Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theater and Contemporary.
Categories: Solo, Duo, Trio, Small/Large Group and Line.
We expect our Company Members to be role models and set good examples in and out of the studio. Good sportsmanship is a MUST and no other behavior will be tolerated from members or families of Company members. Teen and Senior dancers will be held accountable for Junior and Mini Company Members. If Mini or Junior dancers are unsure of anything they should go directly to a Teen and Senior dancers. All decisions are made by Mr. Thom McIntyre. If at any time you are unsure please see him do not ask other parents or teachers.
Dancers are required to have a PDC bag and Company jacket. These bags and jackets should be carried and worn with pride. These dancers work very hard all year and should be proud of their hard work and dedication.
All dancers must maintain good grades in school and good behavior at home. We will not tolerate behavior issues at this level of dance.
Dancers may not compete for other studios while dancing for the Company.
All dancers’ decisions to perform, audition or work outside of PDC sanctioned events need to be approved by Mr. Thom. We at PDC have your child’s best interest at heart and would not want them steered in the wrong direction. We understand opportunities present themselves but not all are worth taking.
This is a family that will grow and learn together for many years. Each member is special and should be treated with love and respect. We ask that all members of our families keep this in mind and nurture these young artists during their journey.
All COMPANY dancers are required to take Ballet and Hip Hop.
In addition:
Mini: Tap, Jazz and Lyrical
Juniors, Teens, Seniors: Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Improvisation
We strive to have the most well rounded dancers and artists. The PDC staff works very hard preparing these children for dance, school and life decisions. We are so proud of each of them as we watch them continue to grow before our eyes into beautiful, loving artist. We spend tons of time together in classes/rehearsals bonding while laughing, growing and creating on these kids. We here at PDC consider them our family.
